E-commerce manager

At Aaltjes Online, everything revolves around solutions from nature. We help people keep their gardens healthy, without poison or pesticides. Our customers love green, animals and sustainability.
We're growing fast, we have our own brands and plans for more countries. And we're looking for someone to help us make that happen!
Let's be honest: we're looking for a bit of a unicorn. Someone who makes the webshop fly and understands that a green brand isn't a hollow marketing trick. Someone who optimises a campaign on Monday and just pitches in packing orders on Tuesday when things get busy. Strategy and hands in the soil.
What you'll do
You're responsible for the commercial engine behind nematodenshop.de and aaltjesonline.nl:
- You run and optimise the webshops: conversion, campaigns, product pages, funnel.
- You steer on the numbers that matter (revenue, margin, ROAS/POAS) and aren't afraid to make the call.
- You translate our green mission into strong content and a brand people trust.
- You work closely with operations and customer service, because a beautiful campaign is worth nothing if the parcel doesn't go out on time.
- You help build our growth in Germany, and beyond it soon after.
- You jump in on the floor when it's busy. We do this together!
Who you are πͺ
- You have experience in e-commerce and online marketing, in a similar role.
- You're analytical and commercial: you read a dashboard and you sense what moves a customer.
- You write German at C2 level, publication-ready and with a feel for tone and nuance. What you write goes out as it is, because nobody here can check it for you.
- You know the German market from experience. You've worked in or for Germany and you understand how German customers buy online: what they look for, what builds trust, where they drop off. That's the perspective we're missing.
- You switch effortlessly between strategy and rolling up your sleeves.
- You like a down-to-earth, fast-growing company without the corporate fluff.
- And: you really believe in sustainable, honest products.
And then there's Dutch
Not a requirement, but a very big plus. Bigger than it looks at first glance.
The reason is simple: the office runs on Dutch. The warehouse, customer service, the colleagues at the next desk, the conversation over coffee. If you understand the language, you pick up what's actually going on instead of waiting for someone to translate it. That's the difference between being there and being part of it.
It doesn't have to be perfect. If you understand it and you're willing to have a go, that's plenty. But it counts for a lot with us.
What you get
- πΈ A competitive salary that fits your knowledge and experience, plus good benefits.
- π Plenty of autonomy and room for your own ideas.
- π± A key role in a growing, green company with a future.
- π’ We work from the office in Groningen, with the option to work from home.
- β±οΈ The freedom to set your own hours + a company laptop.
- π§ A small, close-knit team with humour, trust and a lovely workplace overlookingβ¦ plants, of course.
