Culture Kiosk De Slak is a culture café on wheels – a place where you can slow down for a moment. Where you can enjoy beauty and wonder. Nothing is required, everything is allowed. De Slak winds its way through the neighborhoods of Groningen.

Visitors can at the Snail:

• Meeting neighbors and getting to know new faces.
• Let loose on the open dance floor.
• Pick up a brush and contribute to the growing overpainting.
• Exchange a small art treasure in De Slak's extraordinary art cabinet.
• Enjoy free pop-up performances and creative workshops.
• Gather tips for performances, concerts, exhibitions, and other cultural gems in the city.
• And of course: settling down with a cup of coffee or tea for a good conversation.

Culture Kiosk De Slak is an initiative of VRIJDAG in de Buurt , the neighborhood program of arts center VRIJDAG. With a team of nine culture coaches, we promote art and culture in twelve neighborhoods and villages of Groningen, as well as in asylum seeker centers and reception centers for Ukrainians.

Tasks and duties

Become a volunteer at Cultuurkiosk De Slak! 🐌

At VRIJDAG in de Buurt, we are looking for:

Enthusiastic volunteers Culture Kiosk.

Step aboard De Slak, our electric tuk-tuk full of art and culture, and head into the neighborhood with our regular host. You bring encounters, creativity, and a moment of peace to the area – in squares, parks, or on street corners.

What are you going to do?

• Serving coffee and tea with a smile. ☕
• Helping with pop-up workshops and street performances.
• Engaging in conversation with local residents.
• Handing out flyers and sharing cultural tips.
• Do you have an artistic background yourself? Even better! Maybe you'll soon be giving your own mini-concert or creative workshop on the street. 🎶🎨

Skills and qualities

Who are we looking for?

• You have an affinity for art and culture.
• You are social and enjoy talking to people.
• You are available for at least two half-days per month.
