Collection coordinator

Become a collection coordinator in Groningen and help build a more social Netherlands.

Dear interested party,

One in ten Dutch people is severely lonely. Loneliness is becoming an increasingly major problem . That is why the Salvation Army has over 130 community rooms throughout the Netherlands, where neighbors meet. In community rooms, new friendships are formed, people give and receive the help they need, and there is warmth, conviviality, and meaningful daytime activities. Visitors sometimes even see each other as family.

Community centers are almost entirely dependent on donations and volunteer work. The Salvation Army is looking for people who want to contribute to this. In doing so, you become part of a large movement of people in the Netherlands who look out for one another and want to live life together.

What can you do?

We are currently looking for someone to coordinate the annual fundraising campaign in and around Groningen. The campaign is crucial for the continued existence of the community center and second-hand clothing store in Groningen . Every year, with the help of thousands of volunteers, we raise around 1 million euros so that community centers can be maintained and expanded.

As a collection coordinator, you coordinate the collection in a specific area, possibly together with a co-coordinator and/or district head(s). You manage multiple districts or towns. You maintain contact with the collectors and handle administrative tasks, such as recording the proceeds in your area. Of course, you can also go door-to-door yourself if you enjoy that. For support with and questions regarding your duties, you can contact your relationship manager at the Salvation Army. Being a collection coordinator will take approximately 10 hours of your time during the November/December period.
