Many internationals living in the Northern Netherlands are looking for opportunities to meet new people, discover the region, and feel more at home in their new surroundings. That is why the International Welcome Center North (IWCN) organizes the Walking Club, where participants come together to explore beautiful walking routes and special destinations in the Northern Netherlands.
To continue organizing the Walking Club, we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers who want to lead walks. As a volunteer, you welcome participants, help create a friendly and inclusive atmosphere, and guide walks for groups of internationals and locals.
One of the fun aspects of volunteering at the Walking Club is that you can come up with the walking routes yourself. Whether you enjoy nature walks, historic villages, hidden gems, or beautiful landscapes, you can share your favorite spots with others.
The walks usually take place once every two weeks on Sunday afternoons and last between one and three hours. Volunteers choose which walks they wish to lead and can plan routes that align with their own interests and availability. The IWCN team is always available for questions and support.
Would you enjoy hiking, being active outdoors, and meeting people from different cultures? Do you speak good English and do you want to help internationals discover the Northern Netherlands while they build new connections? Then sign up!
