Interesting or nice about this vacancy
For over 50 years, De Noorderbrug has specialized in treating and supporting people with acquired brain injury (ABI), deafness with complex issues, and chronic neurological and neuromuscular disorders (such as Huntington's disease and Duchenne muscular dystrophy). We treat and support them both at home and in one of our residential centers and talent centers. We do this primarily in the North of the country.
The clients of our residential center enjoy going for a walk on Tuesday evenings, or playing a game when the weather is bad. Unfortunately, the volunteer who helped us with this is no longer able to do so, which is why we are looking for a successor.
Tasks and duties
You arrive at the location around 7:00 PM, where the clients gather to go for a walk. You walk for an hour from the location and finish with coffee or tea. As a volunteer, you help where necessary. The activity ends around 8:30 PM.
Skills and qualities
Our clients are deaf or hard of hearing. It is not a requirement, but if you know some sign language or would like to learn it, that would be very nice.
Additional information
Feel free to call or email our volunteer coordinator Rudi Nijmeijer for more information about this call, our organization, or other opportunities to volunteer with us.
