Tasks and duties

Are you good at DIY or do you have a green thumb?
Are you good at laying laminate, or were you born with a paint roller in your hand?
Or do you enjoy helping with moves?

And would you like to regularly use those talents for people who cannot do it themselves and who also have no means to have others do it for them?

Then being a flex worker is probably something for you. Present Groningen works with a pool of flex workers: the flex team. Flex workers are people who sign up as individuals. You can decide on a project-by-project basis whether to join in and participate. It is ideal if you want to do something on a regular basis but want to decide for yourself when you are available and which projects you want to join.

Skills and qualities

• You have access to WhatsApp.
• Having your own tools is very handy.
• You can work together with other volunteers.
• You are flexible in your availability.

Additional information

The flex team works as follows:

• If you sign up, we will contact you for an introductory meeting to hear what suits you! You will then get access to the flex team's WhatsApp group.
• Projects that need to be done in the short term are shared in the WhatsApp group. You respond within the specified timeframe if you are available on the mentioned date and the activity suits you. If there are enough people, the project can be taken up. If you cannot make it, you do not have to do anything.
• In addition, an availability form is posted a few times a year. On this form, you can indicate on which of the listed dates you are available for a project. If there are three or more volunteers for a date, the project will proceed on that date.
• For each project, a temporary WhatsApp group is created with the volunteers participating in the project. Project details are discussed within this group. Therefore, the composition may vary from project to project.
• If you can use your own tools, that is greatly appreciated, but it is certainly not a must.
• For a job, we take the time to get to know the resident so that everyone has a pleasant day!
• Present handles the preparation, the flex group gets the job done!
• A project usually takes place between 9:00 and 14:00.
• You decide for yourself how often and when you participate in a project. Very flexible!
