We take care of the planning, the location, the roadmap, the décor, the enthusiastic speakers, and the entertainment. What makes Meeting u special is that you not only organize events but your also guiding students to becoming professionals in the field. On the day itself, we take full charge together with the students. Who are we looking for
As an event coordinator in the Meeting u department, you are working as a hospitality professional making sure guests feel welcome and at home. As an expert in your field, you are an example for students who get trained in this field. You guide them in becoming professionals. Based on the role or roles you fulfil; you contribute as a team member to the results of the team and the ambitions of the organization.
As an event coordinator, you will fulfil the following three roles:
Professional
- A multi-tasker in your expertise.
- Identifies bottlenecks in the execution of the activities and suggests improvements.
- Evaluate the purpose of activities, working practices, methods, and (practical) assignments and suggest improvements.
Coach
- Improving service by communicating and assisting students to understand guest needs.
- Providing guidance, feedback and individual coaching when needed for students and team members.
- Coaches students regarding work practices, practical assignments, research and/or the use of study materials, machines, and instruments, amongst other things.
- Checks the students’ work and gives specific feedback.
- Has a strong affinity with coaching students.
Team member
- Works in the result-responsible team on the team’s joint assignments.
- Contributes to the transfer of knowledge and actively shares knowledge and experiences.
- Actively seeks feedback and feedforward for personal development.
As an event coordinator, your responsibilities are both educational and operational:
- Event Planning.
- Event Promotion and Marketing.
- Logistics and Operations.
- On-Site Event Management.
- Post-Event Evaluation.
- Team Coordination and Leadership
Effective communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask are crucial for success in this role. You must also be adaptable, resourceful, and able to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive attitude.
In addition, our ideal candidate should have:
- Skills to empower students to provide excellent customer service.
- Good theoretical and practical knowledge in the educational field.
- Excellent knowledge of and insight into developments in the professional field.
- Skilled at instructing and motivating students.
- Skilled at planning and developing learning activities, methods, working practices, and (practical) assignments.
- English Cambridge level B2.
- Preferably Dutch native speaker.
- A bachelor's degree.

The operational hours – you will work 5 days per week and depending on your shift this may include a weekend. Working hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Note that flexibility in working hours may be required to accommodate peak periods and special events.
NHG offers a salary for this position depending on relevant experience and education within the scale VII of the Collective Labour Agreement of NHG at a salary range of €2805.93 – max €4208.14 gross per month for a full-time job.
The contract is initially for the duration of 1 year but can be extended after successful completion of this period.
