Full Stack Developer (Medior/Senior)

Do you want to help build technology that makes a real difference in trauma processing for clients worldwide? Are you looking for a versatile role where you work alongside a great team to realize a concrete roadmap, communicate clearly, and take ownership of our digital products? Then we are looking for you at SE Factory!

Where will you work?

Since 2013, SE Factory has been developing, producing, and selling the EMDR Kit: an innovative hardware tool that supports therapists worldwide in trauma treatment. Our technology helps clients process difficult experiences and enables practitioners to work more effectively and comfortably. Additionally, we are launching an online environment this year that allows therapists to conduct their EMDR treatments online. Furthermore, we have many new products planned on our roadmap.

We are a close-knit, down-to-earth, and positive team. As our sole internal developer, you will take technical ownership of our digital landscape. However, that does not mean you will be on an island or a hierarchical throne, we make decisions together. You will work closely with colleagues from marketing, sales, and product development. In our weekly meetings, we align priorities as equals. You are an essential link in an enthusiastic team building for the future.

What will you do?

In this versatile role, you carry the responsibility for our digital products. You operate at the intersection of web development and e-commerce: from optimizing our international WooCommerce webshop to further developing our online EMDR environment.

The role requires a healthy balance between building for the future (new features, scalability, and architecture) and providing daily support (smoothly handling tickets, bug fixes, and colleague requests).

Your role rests on three key pillars:

1. Webshop & E-commerce (WordPress / WooCommerce)
* Our webshop is our primary international sales channel and flagship showcase.
* Management, maintenance, and continuous development of our WordPress / WooCommerce environment based on the product roadmap.
* Processing feedback from Sales & Support: We regularly receive input from support and sales colleagues. As a team, you will evaluate and prioritize these items. This can range from bug fixes to smart enhancements that make daily operations easier, faster, and better.
* Monitoring and optimizing performance, security, loading speed, SEO, conversion rates, and multi-language capabilities.
* Implementing tracking (GA4, GTM) and setting up API integrations.
* Setting up new websites for upcoming products.

2. EMDR Kit Webtool (PHP / Laravel / JS / CSS / HTML)
* We are building an online EMDR environment that enables remote treatment.
* The application features a backend built in PHP and the Laravel framework. The frontend is built using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. You will develop this tool further based on clear requirements from our team. The goal is to make the tool as intuitive, useful, and reliable as possible for therapists.
* Processing customer feedback: Therapists and practitioners share valuable feedback and feature requests directly from the field. Together with the team, you evaluate and prioritize user input, which you then translate into a user-friendly implementation.

3. Technical Contact Point for IT Partners
* You serve as the main technical point of contact for our external IT and hosting partners, ensuring infrastructure continuity. You independently handle daily tickets and development tasks. However, you are not alone: a dedicated external developer serves as a sparring partner, and our web agency handles monthly updates and additional capacity.

Who are we looking for?

As our sole internal developer, you directly own our architecture and technical choices. Therefore, this is notΒ a role for a starter or junior: we are looking for a Medior or Senior Developer (minimum 3–5 years of experience) who can make reliable independent decisions, writes clean code, and acts as a sparring partner for departments, management, and IT partners.

Our ideal colleague looks beyond their own screen: you are analytically strong in code, but equally in tune with what colleagues and users need. You switch easily between complex technical challenges and the practical day-to-day reality of a colleague or therapist. You naturally bring your team along in your choices, ensuring everyone knows where things stand as we build a top-tier product together.

* Strong Communicator: You proactively share your progress and can explain complex technical choices clearly to non-technical colleagues. You dare to indicate what is feasible within the timeline and keep the team aligned.
* Solution-Oriented and Structured: You enjoy working from a clear priority list while remaining open to feedback from colleagues and therapists. You utilize tools like Monday.com for planning and Bitbucket/Git for version control.
* Craftsmanship: You feel 100% responsible for the quality, stability, and security of what goes to production. We embrace AI tools to accelerate development, but you know exactly what happens under the hood.
* Social Impact: You take pride in knowing your work directly contributes to mental healthcare worldwide.

What do you bring?

* Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a Full Stack Web Developer in a professional environment.
* Solid knowledge of PHP and the Laravel framework.
* Strong frontend skills: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
* Strong plus: Proven experience with WordPress & WooCommerce.
* Experience with setting up and maintaining API integrations.
* Good understanding of scalability, performance, and security.
* Ability to explain technical choices clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
* Excellent command of English and/or Dutch.
* Based in (or near) Groningen and motivated to be an active, in-office team member.

What do we offer?

* Meaningful Work: A versatile role where your code directly impacts mental healthcare for clients worldwide.
* Competitive Salary: A gross monthly salary between €3,557 and €5,138 based on a 38-hour workweek, in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labor Agreement for Metal & Technology (*CAO Metaal en Techniek*, Salary Scales H to J). Final placement depends on your experience, knowledge, and capabilities.
* Extras: Holiday allowance, a 13th-month bonus, and a solid pension scheme via PMT.
* Working Hours: Preferred contract for 32 hours per week (open to discussing alternative schedules in consultation).
* Great Workplace: A pleasant workspace at our brand-new office in Groningen (occasional working from home in consultation).
* Development: Annual personal development budget for courses and training.
* Culture: A positive team atmosphere with fun activities, drinks, and sports outings.
