Discussions on diversity and AI featured in Groningen’s MXT2023 conference among a packed programme of panel discussions and networking opportunities for Europe’s fans of music and technology.

Several Groningen entrepreneurs got together to host the MXT (Music Meets Tech) conference to celebrate music, technology, and creativity. MXT2023 took place for the first time between the 17th and 19th of January 2023. Around 200 guests from 8 countries attended this year’s edition which ran parallel to the sold-out Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS) music festival.

MXT2023 featured events about creating diversity, how the metaverse sounds, and AI’s role for creatives. The conference featured speakers such as Keit Kollo (CEO of Weav Music), Irina Yashina (head of the CultTech Accelerator), and Sebastiaan Hooft (DJ & producer).

The orgnanisers told Groningen.nl that MXT strengthens the successful ESNS festival.

“Therefore we want to grow together into a fully-fledged European conference in the tech and music scene that returns every year,” they said.

Max Papo from Founded in Groningen (one of the partners behind MXT) says they want to surprise visitors and guests with a good, fun and informative programme.

MXT2023 was also the first stop of choice of The Road to TNW Conference tour in the run-up to this year’s TNW Conference which will be organised in Amsterdam this June.
