Make it in the North is proud to launch the Career Track, a pilot we're running in collaboration with Het Noorden Werkt Door. Het Noorden Werkt Door supports residents and employers in the North by offering free, tailored guidance towards finding suitable work or staff.
This pilot programme is your chance to gain valuable skills and insights to kickstart your career in the North of the Netherlands. Participation is free, and you could be among the very first to benefit!
This is a pilot! What does that mean?
This is the first time this Career Track from Het Noorden Werkt Door is offered to internationals. That means we’re testing and shaping the program as we go, based on what works best for you. It also means limited spots and a chance to help shape future editions by sharing your experience.
What is the Career Track?
A 5-session track for internationals who want to work in the North of the Netherlands. You’ll learn to:
- define your competences and showcase them;
- find jobs that truly match your profile;
- network with confidence;
- navigate the Dutch application process: from interviews and employment conditions to dealing with rejection;
- connect directly with employers in the region.
The sessions are interactive and hands-on. You’ll not only learn from experts, but also from each other through group discussions and peer feedback. Since this is a pilot, the program is free, fully in English, and tailored to help you take the right steps toward building your career in the North.
When and where?
The sessions will take place physically in Groningen, on the following Wednesdays:
- August 27
- September 3
- September 17
- October 1
- October 8

⚠️ Note: You must be available to attend all five sessions in person to be eligible.
How do I sign up?
Spots are limited! You can apply through the button below. The deadline to apply for the Career Track is July 7th.
You’ll hear from us by the end of July whether you’ve been selected to join. Please block the workshop dates in your calendar until then.
We expect to receive more signups than we have space for in the pilot of the Career Track. We’ll select participants based on the information you provide - including your motivation! - to form a well-matched group for this pilot. If you’re not selected right away, you’ll be placed on a waiting list, and we’ll let you know if a spot opens up.
