Discover Your Talents in Tolbert
StartFest is the festival focused on your development and discovering your talents. Everyone is welcome, whether young or old, regardless of your education, work experience, or background. We don’t look at a CV but at what someone can do.
Educators, companies, entrepreneurs, and industry organizations are eager to showcase what they have to offer at StartFest. Through hands-on activities, we aim to inspire you to discover your skills and talents and explore what you can do with them. This could mean finding a (new) job, beginning an education, doing volunteer work, or starting an orientation. We inspire you and help you get started.
The Make it in the North team is going to be present at StartFest, so feel welcome to come by and chat with us at our stand! We'll be there from 10:00 to 19:00, with a short break between 13:00 - 14:30.
Though registration is not required, we encourage you to sign up through our platform to receive English language updates and information about this event.
At StartFest, you’ll be able to recognize the companies that hire internationals by the “Make it in the North” flag on their table, so you can navigate the event by yourself. But maybe you'd like some help. You can come by our stand for a chat or some advice.

Getting to StartFest Tolbert by Bus:
From Groningen Station to HJC Manege, Tolbert:
- Take Bus 3 towards Leek - Tolbert.
- Get off at Tolbert, Rotonde Tolbert.
- Walk about 8 minutes north to HJC Manege.
To get to the event from Assen or Leeuwarden, you can take a train to Groningen Station and follow the directions above.
