Location: Leeuwarden (Hybrid options available but we expect office attendance in Leeuwarden on a weekly basis and preference will accordingly be given to applicants living and studying in Friesland/Fryslan).

Duration: 3+months (Part-time or Full-time)

Department: Sustainability ResearchMultiple Internship Opportunities Available, with opportunity to start early/immediately

Internship Commitment: 24 to 32 hours per week part-time or 40 hours per week full-time, ideally distributed across all five working days (e.g., a few hours each weekday) with at least 1 day per week being in our Leeuwarden Hub

Job Description

We are seeking multiple highly motivated Sustainability Research Interns to join our Sustainability Research team for 3+ months. These internships offer an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of sustainability and technology, with a focus on digesting Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) reports and contributing to the development of data-driven insights. You will have the chance to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge sustainability technology while deepening your understanding of regulatory frameworks and corporate reporting.

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will support our ESG intelligence platform by helping to track and analyse corporate disclosures. Your work will involve:

  • Searching corporate websites for financial and sustainability reports
  • Uploading and organising reports in our database
  • Identifying key report sections (e.g. strategy, risk, governance)
  • Reviewing AI-assisted extractions of Impacts, Risks, and Opportunities (IROs) from CSRD-aligned reports
  • Ensuring accuracy through manual review and annotation

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured tasks, close reading, and contributing to high-impact sustainability analysis. It involves detailed and repetitive work, but plays a crucial part in powering ESG insights for leading companies worldwide.

Your profile

  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to digest and summarise complex information
  • Interest in corporate sustainability and ESG regulations (knowledge of CSRD is a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with data analysis tools is a plus
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a passion for sustainability and technology
  • University student (academic year 2026/26), living in the Netherlands (for example our local partner Campus FryslĂąn, Rijksuniversiteit Groningen)
