International School Fryslân

International School Fryslân is a new international primary school in Leeuwarden, set up by PCBO Leeuwarden, in cooperation with NHL Stenden and the municipality of Leeuwarden, among others. The school will be a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for international and multilingual children. We aim for a high-quality educational program with a keen sense of community and close cooperation with parents, employers, and other stakeholders in the region.

Your role as a PYP Teacher

As a (Primary Years Program) PYP teacher at ISF, you will:

Design and deliver inspiring, inquiry-based lessons within the IB PYP framework and support the development of the curriculum during the school’s IB candidacy phase.

Build a positive, safe, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to learn and grow.

Support students in their individual learning journeys by differentiating and adapting your teaching.

Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the wider community to support student development.

Actively contribute to the further development of our new and pioneering school.

Who are you?

We are looking for teachers who:

• Have a passion for international and inquiry-based education.
• Show an inquisitive and reflective attitude towards teaching and learning.
• Are open-minded and committed to providing equal opportunities for all students.
• Enjoy collaborating in a team and contributing to an innovative school environment.
• Are eager to learn and grow in IB PYP education (teaching experience with IB PYP is required).
• Communicate effectively in English (knowledge of Dutch is a plus, but not mandatory).

The interview with the nomination committee on Monday, 29th of September between 13h and 17h (UTC+2). Due to circumstances, it is an option to organize the interview virtually.

The school plans to open its doors in January 2026. We would therefore like to start with the new teaching staff on November 1.

We are happy to do the recruitment and selection ourselves, so acquisition is unnecessary.
