What do you do as a volunteer?

  • Drinking coffee or tea together and chatting.
  • Lend a hand with meals
  • Company or assist with activities
  • Taking a walk with a guest.
  • Helping to keep the atmosphere warm and relaxed.

What can you expect?

  • There are 3 shifts per day of 4 hours:
  • 09:00 - 13:00
  • 13:00 - 17:00
  • 17.00 - 21.00
  • The Respite House runs 7 days a week.
  • You will always work with 2 volunteers per shift.
  • You can always consult with a professional colleague, confident that you can do it together.
  • Experience is not required - you will be well trained and supervised.
  • Good accessibility: plenty of free parking and a good public transport connection.
  • Training and peer review to share experiences.
  • Jolly volunteer moments.
  • Travel allowance and volunteer allowance.
  • Listening ear - you can listen attentively and patiently.
  • Empathy and respect - you are sensitive to someone's feelings and boundaries.
  • Reliability - guests and colleagues can count on you.
  • Team player - you always work together with another volunteer and a professional.
  • Relaxation and friendliness - you help create a relaxed atmosphere.

The Respite House is a warm place where people who are temporarily stuck due to mental symptoms or tensions can take a breather.
In the Respite House, we are there as people for people - simple, warm and together.
Here, it's all about little things that make a big difference: having a cup of coffee, going for a walk together or lending a hand with a meal.
