Process Research Technician
We are looking for a highly-skilled and motivated Process Research Technician to join our growing on-site team in Groningen. This is a unique opportunity to contribute directly to ground-breaking R&D in a fast-paced, high-tech scale-up environment.
Your role
As a Process Research Technician, you will work primarily in our cleanroom and materials processing labs, supporting the development of thin-film deposition, spin-coating, and related fabrication processes for next-generation quantum dot devices.
You will collaborate closely with engineers to perform experiments, optimise process parameters, and ensure consistent, high-quality results. As our organisation continues to scale, this position offers strong opportunities for professional growth, whether through specialisation in advanced technologies, leadership within the technical team, or broader involvement in R&D process development.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and process samples via spin-coating, thin-film deposition, and related techniques
- Operate cleanroom tools and maintain a safe, organized workspace
- Support material characterization and process optimization
- Follow and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for reproducibility
- Work closely with R&D teams to translate experimental findings into scalable processes
- Maintain process logs and assist with data analysis and reporting
About you
You are detail-oriented, curious, and hands-on. You enjoy working in the cleanroom and are passionate about precision processes and materials science.
Qualifications & Experience
- 2–5 years of experience in thin-film processing, spin-coating, or cleanroom operations
- Background in laboratory, chemical-physical analysis, chemistry, materials science, physics, or nanotechnology (MBO/HBO)
- Familiarity with laboratory safety and good documentation practices
- Team-oriented, eager to learn, and comfortable with iterative R&D work
What we offer
- Be a part of a growing deep-tech company at the forefront of imaging innovation
- A role where your contributions directly drive technological progress
- Continuous learning and growth opportunities from day one
- Competitive compensation and benefits, including:
- Pension scheme participation
- 8% holiday allowance (of gross annual income)
- 25 days of annual leave (based on full-time employment)
- Travel allowance
- A supportive, on-site work environment that values collaboration, initiative, and professional development
If you’re passionate about quantum dot technology, precision, and innovation, we’d love to hear from you!
