Research Equipment Technician
Your role
As a Research Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and calibration of our advanced laboratory and cleanroom equipment. You will ensure the smooth, safe, and reliable operation of our R&D infrastructure and provide technical support to our scientists and engineers.
This role is suitable for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, precision, and working with complex systems that enable cutting-edge research. Key responsibilities
- Install, operate, maintain, and calibrate advanced laboratory and cleanroom equipment
- Keep detailed records of equipment performance, maintenance, and calibration
- Identify and resolve technical issues to minimise production downtime
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers and engineers on upgrades and preventative maintenance
- Support ongoing R&D processes by preparing and maintaining the technical setups
- Contribute to process scaling and ensure a smooth transition from R&D to pilot production
About you
You are a hands-on, problem-solver who takes pride in keeping complex equipment running flawlessly. You enjoy practical technical work and bring a proactive, collaborative mindset.
Qualifications & Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in an R&D, laboratory, or technical service environment
- Strong background in equipment maintenance and calibration (e.g. vacuum systems, thin-film tools, or reactor setups)
- Technical diploma or degree (MBO/HBO) in laboratory, chemistry, material sciences, applied physics, nanotechnology, or similar field)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Proactive, safety-conscious, and detailed-oriented
