Maritime HSEQ Coordinator

What will you be doing?

Our maritime HSEQ department supports colleagues on board the vessels and at the office in complying with laws and regulations related to safety, environment, security, and quality. As these responsibilities continue to grow, our HSEQ coordinators are looking for a new colleague to help support them.

As a Maritime HSEQ Coordinator, you will have frequent contact with the captains and crew of our fleet. You will make topics related to safety, quality, security, and the environment open for discussion and act as a point of contact for questions. You will write procedures and manuals for the vessels. If you observe non-compliant situations during onboard visits, or if regulations change, you will motivate and coach the crew to carry out their work in accordance with the (legal) guidelines and Wagenborg’s policies.

You will regularly travel to vessels in the Netherlands and abroad to conduct audits and, occasionally, to investigate incidents. You will assist the crew if needed during an audit or inspection. From both internal and external audits and Port State inspections, you will identify and analyze shortcomings and improvement points and monitor the follow-up. You will take part in a rotating on-call schedule to handle emergencies on board. This role requires flexibility, as you may have long travel days or need to be available in the evenings or during weekends.

Requirements

• You are currently sailing or have previously sailed as an officer/engineer

• You hold an ISO/Auditor certificate and ISM & ISPS Auditor certificate, or you are willing to obtain them

• You have a category B driving license

• You live in the north of the Netherlands or are willing to relocate there
