In support of its current business and future growth the company is seeking an experienced petroleum engineer. The petroleum engineer is to optimize value through optimization of reservoir recovery for existing wells and unlocking new volumes with exploration wells and infill wells. The petroleum engineer will closely collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and deliver high-quality opportunities and ensure alignment with business objectives. The multidisciplinary team comprises of Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Well Engineering, Front End Engineering, Projects, Process Engineering, Production Operations and Commercial disciplines.
Primary responsibilities
- Perform production forecasting for the purpose of hydrocarbon maturation, reserves
estimation and business plan. - Maintain and run the Integrated Production System Models (Petex, Eclipse).
- Provide support with the identification, maturation and prioritization of new
opportunities. This includes safety critical elements such as pore pressure prediction. - Actively participate in Production Optimization & Growth activities, such as Field
Performance Reviews. - Be responsible for "winningsplan" and "winningsvergunning" (production plan and
license) renewals and submissions. Provide input into other license applications and
renewals (e.g. โomgevingsvergunningenโ). - Represent subsurface at technical partner meetings (TCM's).
- Report reserves estimation and forecasting to regulators, governmental and industry
parties.
Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes. Evaluate and adopt innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance analyses and decision making.
Education and experience
- A University Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent; preferably at MSc or PhD level.
- 10+ years of experience in petroleum engineering within the oil and gas industry,
preferably in exploration, field development and production optimization. - Strong expertise in petroleum engineering evaluation techniques and simulation
modelling, with exposure towards field development planning and reservoir
surveillance. - The ability to pick up existing models, be pragmatic, and to oversee the gas/oil
production chain from reservoir to sales point. - Knowledge of Dutch regulatory frameworks and experience engaging with partners and
regulators is a plus.
