Since 2008, Petra and Kees Mulder have been the proud owners. We serve traditional Scottish dishes like haggis and stews, alongside popular favorites such as schnitzel and spareribs.

Open seven days a week for lunch and dinner, our restaurant blends Scottish hospitality with the warmth of Drenthe. We regularly host live folk music—often performed by musicians in kilts—and offer monthly whisky tastings and dinner concerts.

Our building has evolved from a farmhouse and inn into a vibrant hospitality venue, with deep roots in the local community. Of our 30 team members, 20 live in Hooghalen, 5 in Smilde, 3 in Beilen, and 2 in Witteveen. We’re proud of our local team and also offer work experience placements for young people, permitholders, and individuals re-entering the workforce. We do this in collaboration with local schools and the municipality of Midden-Drenthe.
