The role of an E&I Engineer

The tasks of an E&I Engineer

  • Serve as the responsible discipline engineer for all electrical, instrumentation, and automation (EI&A) aspects of projects, from initiation to customer handover.
  • Design the EI&A systems based on P&ID, and select appropriate equipment with the project team.
  • Prepare and manage quotation requests for EI&A system integrators and oversee vendor manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate closely with customers and suppliers to ensure project alignment with expectations and smooth execution.
  • Conduct Acceptance Tests for electrical, instrumentation, and control software at supplier and customer sites.
  • Provide operating instructions, perform system start-ups globally, and troubleshoot deviations, prioritizing safety and quality.

Qualifications & background of an E&I Engineer

  • Bachelor's degree in E&I Engineering or related field, with work experience equivalence considered.
  • Approx. 5 years of (international) experience in a similar role, preferably within Process/Biogas/Anaerobic Digestion/Wastewater Treatment, Oil & Gas, or Agriculture sectors.
  • Proficient in control systems including PLC and SCADA, specifically Allen Bradley and Siemens, along with a broad understanding of energy technology.
  • Experienced with electrical CAD software such as AutoCAD, Eplan P8.
  • Strong grasp of process engineering and instrumentation principles.
  • Familiar with compliance and safety standards including ATEX, IEC-Ex and adept in ERP systems.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for international projects.
