Become a Repair Worker!
Are you handy, do you enjoy helping others and do you like a real challenge at times? We can always use enthusiastic repair workers. From young researchers to retired professionals!
Groningen Repair Cafés regularly need new volunteers who are handy with one or more of the following:
- textile/clothing repair
- electrical appliances
- bicycles
- furniture/wood items
WHAT IS EXPECTED OF YOU?
You really don't have to be an accomplished repair specialist to sign up. What is important as a Repaircafe employee: some technical insight, an inquiring mind and the ability to read instruction manuals and repair instructions. It will be especially nice if you can pass on some of your skills to our customers.
WHAT IS A REPAIR CAFÉ?
As a Repair employee, you are part of an international movement. Did you know that there are 3000 Repair cafes worldwide? In Groningen alone there are 9 active ones. Each Repair Café meets once every one or two months to help neighbors with their broken things. Many visitors also come for the fun or to learn something. That is why Repair Cafés often need volunteers in the role of host/hostess.
GRONINGEN SUPPORTS REPAIR CAFES
Repair Cafés make products last longer, reduce waste and enable residents to save on their expenses. Enough reason for the municipality of Groningen to support them. These are the Repair Cafés in our municipality:

| RC Helpman De Wijert | Helper Westsingel 31, Groningen | Every second Saturday of the month from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. |
| RC Haren | De Mellenshorst, Waterhuizerweg 36, Haren | Every last Saturday of the month from 10.15 to 12.30 a.m. |
| RC Ten Boer | Dorpshuis, Sportlaan 2, Ten Boer | Approx. five times a year on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. |
| RC Harkstede | Cosis Ons Hertenkamp, De Appelhof 32, Harkstede | Second Saturday of the long months, from 1 to 4 p.m. |
| RC Paddepoel | Antaresstraat 45, Groningen | Every other Saturday of the month from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. |
| RC Fix’m | Groenhuis, Madourastraat | Open every Monday afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. |
| Lutje RC Rivierenbuurt | Rivierenhof 98 | Every Thursday morning from 10-12 a.m. |

Mention in your mail your name, address, contact information (email address, phone number) and year of birth. Also indicate the area in which you are or want to become a repair specialist.
