Job Requirements:

  • You have at least 1–2 years of experience as an event manager.
  • You are structured, stress-resistant, and able to maintain oversight, even during busy periods.
  • You possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • You are able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • You are flexible in terms of working days during the week.

As an Event Manager, you are responsible for supporting and organizing a wide range of events for the School. You work together with the programme team, researchers, and colleagues to ensure that every event runs smoothly from start to finish.

A selection of your responsibilities:

  • Setting up, planning, and coordinating events;
  • Contributing ideas for creative concepts;
  • Managing on-site execution: from setup to breakdown;
  • Being responsible for incoming event requests and taking final responsibility during the events;
  • Preparing scripts/run sheets, schedules, and budgets.

Through an interdisciplinary platform, the University of Groningen RUG aims to further strengthen the university’s societal impact. To achieve this goal, four Schools for Science & Society have been established. The Wubbo Ockels School for Energy and Climate (WOS) is one of these four Schools. The WOS is a network organization that brings together academic researchers from various disciplines and external partners, such as businesses and societal organizations, to collaborate on major societal challenges related to the School’s theme. The WOS motto is: β€œTogether for a greener and fairer energy transition.”

You will be working in a small and energetic team based at the House of Connections at the Grote Markt.
